§ 53.17. ENUMERATION OF RATES.

  • (A) Generally. Rates to be charged for service furnished by the system shall be as follows.
    (B) Specifically.
    (1) Sewer use charges. Sewer use charges shall be at the rate of $1 per 1,000 gallons of water used quarterly, with a minimum charge of $12 for the first 12,000 gallons. Premises outside city limits shall pay an additional $1 per 1,000 gallons used quarterly, with a minimum charge of $24 for the first 12,000 gallons. The additional revenues to be allocated to capital funds of the adjacent city.
    (2) Connection charges. For each direct connection to lines of the city’s existing sewer system, as built as of 6-9-1992, there shall be charged a fee of $2,500 per single-family residential equivalent user, for those premises or buildings which desire sanitary sewer service and are located within the corporate limits of the city. For those premises located outside the corporate limits of the city, the fee for connection to the sanitary sewer system, as it exists on 6-10-1993, shall be $3,500 per single-family residential equivalent user. The fee shall be imposed by the city for the privilege of connecting to the city’s existing sanitary sewer system, and shall be expressly for the purpose of recovering the capital cost of installing the system.
    (3) Indirect connection. In order to defray the proportional share of the cost of the necessary oversizing of trunks, pumping stations, and sewer treatment facilities, there shall be imposed a fee, for each indirect connection to the system at any time hereafter of $1,250 for each residential single-family equivalent user. An indirect connection shall be defined as a connection to a line which is installed to serve more than one property, the cost of which is paid for by special assessment or private funds and constructed in accordance with all applicable state, county, and local codes, ordinances, and regulations, and is added to the original system after its construction.
    (4) Equivalent user factor. Each premises, other than a single-family residence, shall pay either a direct or indirect connection charge multiplied by a factor representing a ratio of sewage use by the class of premises to normal single-family residential use, as reflected in § 50.033.
    (5) Payment of connection charge. Connection charges, as set forth in this section, shall be due and payable in cash upon application for connection to the system.
