§ 2.2. Additional Powers Of The City.

  • (a) The city and its officers shall have power to exercise all municipal powers in managing and controlling municipal property and in administering the municipal government, whether such powers are expressly enumerated or not; to do any act to advance the interests of the city, the good government, and prosperity of the municipality and its residents, and through its regularly constituted authority, to pass and enforce all ordinances and resolutions relating to its municipal concerns, subject to the constitution and laws of the State of Michigan and the provisions of this charter.
    (b) The city may condemn property if such exercise of power is needed in order to preserve the public health, safety, and welfare of the community, or other public purpose as defined by laws according to the authority granted to the City of the Village of Douglas and governed by the Constitution and statutes of the State of Michigan and this charter.
